Shared Hosting Server Basics
Logging Into Your Control Panel
- Start your web browser.
- Type http://www.yourdomain.com/ControlPanel/ in the address bar; then press Enter. The Login window appears.
- Type your user ID and password in the appropriate fields.
- Click Login. The Control Panel appears. If your user ID/password combination does not work, make sure the caps lock is not on and try logging in again. If the login still does not work, feel free to contact Support at support@hostriser.com.
Changing Your Password
You should immediately change your password after logging in to your account for the first time. Using a random, alphanumeric combination that includes upper and lower case letters will help protect your account.
- On the Control Panel home page, you will find a "Preference and Settings" section. In this section click Change Password. The Change My Password window appears.
- Type in your current password in the correct form field.
- Type your new password in the New Password field. Your password needs to be eight characters long and at least one of the characters must be a number.
- Type your new password again in the Confirm Password field.
- Click Save. A message appears informing you that your new password has been saved.
Checking your Email
- Enter into your control panel.
- In the "Mail" section there is a webmail button. Click the button and a new window will appear with your email interface.
Setting Up New Email Addresses
- Log into the control panel.
- Under the "Users" section of the Control Panel, click the "Create User/Edit Privileges" icon.
- Fill out the fields as directed. Note the following:
- Login ID will be the first part of the email address and the user name they would log in with.
- Privileges, you MUST check the 'Mail' checkbox. Others are optional, but generally not necessary.
- E Email Aliases are additional email addresses you want to deliver to this user, i.e. info@example.com.
- W With Mail forward you can have your new email address deliver to an outside email address such as a gmail account.
- Verify all information one last time.
- Click Save if you do not want to do another, or 'Save / Create Another' to create this mailbox and move on to create another.

There are other many useful applications within you new Shared Hosting Contol Panel
- Email control including SpamAssassin, Whitelisting, Blacklisting etc.
- File organization with back up options
- Full analytics and site statistics
- Database administrations
Logging Out of Your Control Panel
To logout, click Logout in the upper-right corner of the Control Panel.

- Click Login. Your webmail appears. If your user ID/password combination does not work, make sure the caps lock is not on and try logging in again. If the login still does not work, feel free to contact Support at support@hostriser.com.
Setting Up New Email Addresses
- Log into the control panel.
- Type https://www.yourdomain.com/ControlPanel/ in the address bar; then press Enter.
- Login with the admin user's credentials.
- Click on 'Add End User' in the gray navigation bar on the left.
- Fill out the fields as directed. Note the following:
- Login ID will be the first part of the email address and the user name they would log in with.
- User Disk Space dictates how much space will be available to that mailbox (1000 is roughly 1 GB).
- Under End User Privileges, you MUST check the 'Mail' checkbox. Others are optional, but generally not necessary.
- Make sure you change the Domain to where the email should be (@.com).
- Click Next.
- Verify the email address and related applications (I usually leave all of them on).
- Click Next.
- Verify all information one last time.
- Click Save if you do not want to do another, or 'Save / Create Another' to create this mailbox and move on to create another.
Logging Out of Your Control Panel
To logout, click Logout in the upper-right corner of the Control Panel.
